This volume, published by Edward Hutchison and Kunstverein in Hamburg, presents the most comprehensive collection of the artist’s works — featuring over 750 images from museums, galleries, and private collections around the world - for the first time including Baldwin’s poetry, drawings, and sketches. Edited through the collaboration of a group of experts, friends, and former students of Baldwin, the book celebrates the life and legacy of one of the key figures of English modernism. Comprising 280 pages divided into chapters tracing Baldwin’s career from the 1950s to the 2010s, the publication includes essays and critical contributions by Milan Ther – Director, Kunstverein in Hamburg; Anthony Gardner – Writer, poet, and journalist; Helen Walsh – Curator, Centre of Ceramic Art, New York and Crispin Kelly. The volume is further enriched by personal accounts from key figures influenced by Baldwin or who had the privilege of being his students. Proceeds from the book sales will support the promotion of a major exhibition dedicated to Gordon Baldwin in the United Kingdom.
