About the artist

Kazuhito Nagasawa was born in Osaka in 1968.He lives and works in Kyoto. The works of Kazuhito belong to the Japanese concept of Shibui. The fascination of a shibui object lies in a restrained power, a concealed beauty, to be discovered little by little, inviting lengthy observation, even though its value can be understood in an instant. His artworks are mostly rough containers that seem to have survived a nuclear disaster. Sometimes they contain seeds, sometimes memories (Kioku) which the artist want to protect and pass down.
