About the artist

Zsolt József Simon was born in Hungary in 1973. He studied at the University of Art and Design of Budapest. He is a ceramist but he has an interest in painting, theater and music. His artworks are movement studies. Nature is always the focus of his research, but he is interested in the process necessary to obtain a particular form, not in the form itself. He wants that the observer pays attention to the form. The best material to obtain the desired effects is the porcelain clay, because it has a porous surface and evokes the consistency of bones. His artworks are very fragile and they provide a sense of lightness, given also by the subtlety of the elements that emerge from the surface.
