Writer, curator, and educator, Garth Johnson is the Paul Phillips and Sharon Sullivan Curator of Ceramics at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York. Johnson’s curatorial and scholarly work documents the intersection of the Studio Ceramics Movement with conceptual art, performance, and video. Recent publications include contributions to the books Funk You Too: Humor and Irreverence in Ceramic Sculpture and Repositioning Paolo Soleri: The City is Nature. Recent exhibitions include I Contain Multitudes: The 2023 NCECA Annual at the Weston Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Common Ground: Global Ceramics at the Everson Museum of Art.
