About the artist

Irina Razumovskaya was born in Leningrad in 1990. After studying at the State Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, she moved to London in 2015, where she still lives. Here, she attended a master’s degree in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art. In her artistic production one reads philosophical reflections on ageing, the inevitability of the deterioration of matter, the analytical observation of architectural structures. This can be seen, for example, from the Post-surface and Birch series. In the surfaces of her works, she reproduces the effects of the ageing of materials through the overlapping of different layers of porcelain, stoneware and glazes.
