Art Critic and Curator

Irene Biolchini (1984) is Professor of Phenomenology of Contemporary Arts at the Accademia Albertina in Turin and teaches Contemporary Art courses at the Department of Digital Arts, University of Malta. Biolchini is Guest Curator at the Museo Internazionale della Ceramica - MIC in Faenza, for which she has been curating site-specific exhibitions since 2012. She also curated the public program for ICA Per un manifesto della ceramica del XXI secolo, later published as Per un manifesto della nuova ceramica (MOUSSE, 2023). Writing for magazine Espoarte, Biolchini is editor for the Artribune column Gli artisti e la ceramica. Some of her curated exhibitions include: Miquel Barceló (first anthology of the artist's ceramic production, co-curator with Cécile Pocheau Lesteven, 2019, MIC, Faenza); White memory. Art, Memory and Identity in Malta and Poland (co-curator with Marinella Paderni, St James Kavalier, Malta); Italian Guest Pavilion at the Korean International Ceramic Biennale (2017, Icheon, South Korea).
