The course invites participants to explore the diverse world of ceramic coatings, providing a comprehensive set of theoretical and practical notions on the characteristics of different glazes fired at high temperature (1250°C). Aimed at professionals and enthusiasts with a basic knowledge of ceramics, the course is structured over four two-and-a-half hour group meetings in which the following topics will be covered: 1. Introduction to different types of glazes and research methodology; 2. Composition of glazes and creation of basic recipes starting from raw materials; 3. The use of colorants and oxides for colour development; 4. Special effects and layering technics. By the end of the course, each participant will have gained familiarity with glaze making and application, leaving with a personal recipe book and a sample collection for future reference.

The course is intended for those who have already attended a foundation course and at intermediate and advanced level participants.
