Ceramic Decoration

The decoration course explorers some of the main techniques of ceramica decoration. The course is aimed at students who have already attended a Foundation course, but is also suitable for complete beginners. Throughout 4 weekly meetings participants will learn a variety of techniques. In the first part of the course we will address the decoration of raw clay surfaces with slip and englobes, combining paper resist and sgraffito techniques. In the second part of the course participants will learn the technique of Cuerda Seca, for applying glazes decorations on bisque fired ceramics. Students are invited to bring their own ceramics to decorate, otherwise the studio will supply the necessary objects.
